Welcome aperitif in the garden at Castello di Verduno.

DAY 2 | THURSDAY MAY 11, 2017

Private transfer to Pollenzo (6 Km), UNESCO world heritage site and headquarters of SLOW FOOD
international association and UNISG – University of Gastronomic Sciences.

Private visit to the neo-gothic renovated complex of the Agenzia and introduction to the Slow Food
history, philosophy, active projects and sustainability. The tour continues with the private visit to the
prestigious University of Gastronomic Sciences and the historic cellars of the Wine Bank, dating back to the XVIII
century. Final wine tasting.

Private transfer to Montà d’Alba (28 Km).

12:00

Arrival in Montà and meeting with the truffle hunter Luca and his great trusty dog Willy!
Continuation through the Roero hills and vineyards to the wood.
Private real truffle hunting excursion in the wood and thorough expatiation on the truffle topic.

13:30

Thematic special lunch with the truffle hunter and his family at their pretty restored stone hut in the
middle of the wood.

Private transfer back to Verduno via some of the most scenic backroads of the Roero hills and rocks (28 Km).

Our thanks to Landmade Travel & Tours for many reasons. They are our tour designers and partners in the Local Wild Food Challenge Italy Travel  2017

We met founders and sincere hosts, cousins Marco & Ilenia Colucci two years ago after a few weeks of amazing Italian experiences, including a 180k vespa tour of farms and wineries. Traveling by vespa thru, small villages, along windy roads past vineyards, stopping at vineyards to taste, then, along hilltop paths with stunning views, crossing  shallow rivers stopping at hidden trattorias.  What really stood out to us was the local people and culinary experiences they introduced us to.

We agreed to work together to create custom travel experiences for The Local Wild Food Challenge.
